A. Z. M. Saleh, Research & Programme Associate, Unnayan Onneshan, attends the Sixteenth Sustainable Development Conference titled "Creating Momentum: Today is Tomorrow" held from 10 - 12 December 2013 in Islamabad, Pakistan. The conference has been convened by The Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI) which provides the global sustainable development community with representation from Pakistan as well as South Asia as a whole. Saleh presented the topic on ‘Economic Empowerment of Rural Women in Bangladesh En route to Achieving Sustainable Development under the panel Gender Equality: A Road to Sustainable Development. In this Conference, researchers, academicians, scientists, policy makers and experts from different fields recommended policy interventions and present workable solutions to the emerging challenges related to sustainable development.

Seminar On Sustainability Into Product Innovation System: A Comparative Analysis On Sustainability Practices Between High And Low Income Country

Mr. Polin Kumar Saha, researcher, has taken part in an in-house seminar of Unnayan Onneshan on 19 January, 2014 at 4.30 pm and presented his paper on ‘Sustainability into Product Innovation System: A Comparative Analysis on Sustainability Practices between High and Low Income Country’. Considering the implemented sustainability policies between high and low income country, his study aims to explore an integrated sustainability strategy for product innovation system. Along with other researchers Mr Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir, the Chair, was present at the seminar and expressed his valuable observations for further progress followed by other audiences.

An in-house seminar on ‘Valuing Unpaid Work of Women in Family’ has been held on 19 January, 2014 at 4.00 pm in the conference room of Unnayan Onneshan. Mr. K.M. Mustafizur Rahman, research associate from the Social Policy Unit presented his paper focusing the realistic picture of the economic value of unpaid work of women in and around the home as well as to raise attention to a serious and neglected issue that the work done by women without pay , in Bangladesh. In the end, The Chair, Mr.Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir conveyed his insightful observations to enrich the paper followed by other audiences.

He is responsible for editing research reports, books, policy brief, concept note etc. to ensure quality. He is also responsible for preparing media related aspects and making video documentaries to make the organisation more well-communicated along with facilitating in-house seminar. He has completed his Graduation in English Literature & Language from The People’s University of Bangladesh and one-year professional degree in Development Studies (concentrating on Economic Growth & Development, Poverty Alleviation-third sector approaches, Project Management, Social Inclusion, Political Institutions) from Dhaka University. He has accomplished advanced course on Video Editing from South Asian Media Institute (Pathshala).

His areas of interests are Poverty, Media, Film, Gender and Culture related issues.
