An outstanding in-house seminar was held in Unnayan Onneshan-The Innovators on 21 January 2012. Following the theme of international women’s day, this paper explores the existing social association of the Bangladeshi street girls in Dhaka city. Along with the literature review and theoretical frameworks for example gender and development perspectives, this paper presents the history of the women’s day. The methodology and the possible outcomes of the study were presented too. This presentation was followed by an interesting question answer session participated by the audience including the director Polash Kanti Dash and the chairperson Rashed Al-Mahmud Titumir. The honorable audience gave their views to develop the research report.
An admirable in-house seminar was held in Unnayan Onneshan-The Innovators on 21 January 2011. Swadhin Ray presented his paper entitled “Model on Livelihood Diversification [Animal Husbandry and Poultry]” (Sheep Rearing in GKS, GUK and Chick rearing at GKS). The main aim of this study is to generate livelihood options and entrepreneurship with giving particular emphasis to stakeholders in order to combat with the adversities of the climate changes.
On 3 October 2011, Md. Selim Hossain (Junior Research Assistant - II) presented on a topic entitled “Community Based Adaptation: South Western Coastal Bangladesh: A Case Study from Sundarbans Forest People to Koyra Upazilla” in an in-house seminar that was held at the Conference Room of Unnayan Onneshan. Mr, Hossain has presented that there have developed a number of practices in coastal Bangladesh and some are very economically profitable and environmentally welcoming. The finding and promoting of these practices may boost adaptive capacity and reduce vulnerability of the people to coastal disasters.

Abdul Momin Mollah, research assistant, has made a presentation on the topic “Case Study on Innovative Practices in RESOLVE Field: Learning by Doing” at the Conference Room of Unnayan Onneshan on 3 October 2011. This in-house seminar comprised of the previously mentioned as the presenter and A. F. M Azim Uddin as the moderator of the session. In the presentation, Mr. Mollah accentuated the adaptation measures adopted for climate change, natural disaster and environmental issues in the RESOLVE areas.
Unnayan Onneshan has organized an in-house seminar on Tuesday, 23rd August, 2011. Lubna Seal, Junior Research Assistant, has presented a paper titled “Salinity Intrusion in Interior Coast: A New Challenge to Agriculture in South Central Part of Bangladesh”. The study tells of manifold aspect of salinity in the coastal regions of Bangladesh. The presentation consisted the key aspects of the research and those are causes of salinity, its present level, criteria of irrigation water quality, changed condition of irrigation water due to salinity, impact of the phenomenon in river water and crops, practice in the study area, and salinity’s impact on food production and yield potentiality.
