Focusing on the challenges to ensure health for all, the programme on health under the social policy unit of Unnayan Onneshan depicts areas of restrictions and its impact on existing systems of health related issues in Bangladesh. Through its programme on health UO wants to improve people’s access to safe drug, quality and just healthcare; furthermore, UO focuses to improve the nutrition and reproductive health situation, and ensure safe motherhood.
The Programme on health under the social policy unit of Unnayan Onneshan delineates three areas of healthcare system: access to quality health care, access to safe drugs & access to reproductive health. In the arena of access to quality health care, UO reflects on how the integrated health services, service delivery models, health information, health workforce and health governance & stewardship situation can be improved. In the field of access to safe drugs, UO focuses on the use and abuse of drugs and cost effective use of drugs. The concentrated focus is given to the political economy of the drugs to influence the policy of government and other external development partners. In the arena of access to reproductive health, emphasizes on the safe reproductive health for both men and women. The gender equitable use of contraceptives, adolescent health services, sanitation, and nutrition, the consumer oriented and cost effective by reducing geographical and financial inequality is the focal point of reproductive health research wing. Two other issues are being focused on; those are, nutrition and population situation.
Focusing on the challenges of ensuring health for all, the programme on health under the social policy unit of Unnayan Onneshan depicts areas of restrictions and its impact on existing systems of health related issues in Bangladesh. Policy related issues are also selected to represent a critical analysis of the policies from the point of proper implementation to meet desirable success.

Policy Advocacy and Engagement
Engagement with different government officials, union parishad at local level, development partners and grassroots has always been the entry points for policy advocacy. Unnayan Onneshan undertakes research on critical issues to open up ideas to tackle challenging areas and provides opportunities to lobby with government.
Advocacy and Dissemination
Social unit has been a good source of knowledge generation through its vibrant publications on emerging issues. Dissemination of all outputs coming out of social units has been executed through organizational website, opinion piece/articles in media, policy brief and reports. The organization has very profound involvement in organizing events like workshops, seminar, and conference with government, NGOs, grass roots, civil society and development partners.
