Working Lives and Social Protection Unit 

The Unit undertakes research into all aspects of working lives and social security, emphasizing equality and social justice and provide analysis in support of trade unions, social movements and public and private sector organizations. Research considerations of the Unit include: economic security, educational and workforce prospects, and family stability of low-income persons.

Solidarity Forum for Garment Workers in Least Developed Countries 

The Bangladesh Garment Workers Protection Alliance (BGWPA) hosted the Solidarity Forum for Garment Workers in Least Developed Countries on August 18-19, 2003 in Dhaka, Bangladesh with participation of garment and textile workers’ federations, women’s groups, human rights organizations, global civil society networks and international trade experts.  The purpose of the forum was to develop a network of like-minded groups around the world to campaign for the protection of the rights, interests and livelihood of garment and textile workers in least developed countries (LDCs).
