Governance capability and Macro Economic Performance for Growth and Equity

With the mission of social transformation through poverty eradication, removing gender inequality and environmental degradation, Unnayan Onneshan has been undertaking programmes. The objectives of the various programmes have been adopted to ensure better governance and macro economic performance for sustainable economic growth and equity generation. Keeping the objectives in view, Unnayan Onneshan examines public policies and various government intervention strategies. It exposes their impact on the people and through evidence based exploration, suggests alternative approaches for capacity building of the general people and institutions through growth and equity. Various programmes of the organization are aimed at revealing interesting information on macro economic performance of the economy. Economic performance of the country is judged through analysis of different elements (real, monetary, fiscal, external) on the basis of the monthly, quarterly and half yearly updates. These reviews would have significant impact on the annual macro economic analysis of Bangladesh.

The objective of the organization is to create broad awareness among the civil society on the issues of governance and macro economic performance of the country. Through disseminating its research works and organizing events, the organisation put ideas directly to decision-makers at national and international levels. It has cultivated connections with public sector officials, politicians, business leaders, NGOs, trade unions, women groups, educators for building active support for, sustainable development in the public and private sector and among the general public.

Advocacy and Dissemination

Unnayan Onneshan regularly publishes research reports in its website. Moreover, policy briefs and opinion articles are published on regular basis in renowned national dailies as part of its capacity building programmes to aware mass people. The publications are used as tools to bridge information gap between the grassroots and the policy makers. In-house seminars are conducted on regular basis to enhance the researchers’ capacity to outreach the civil society about their research findings with the view of social transformation.
