shumonNabila Nasrin has been working as a Junior Research Assistant under Economic Policy Unit at Unnayan Onneshan. She has completed MSc and BSc in Economics from Jahangirnagar University, Savar, Dhaka. She has been conducting research on macroeconomic issues i.e. remittance, balance of payments, monetary policy, industrialisation, power sector and the performance of the economy of Bangladesh. She actively contributes in Monthly Economic Update of Unnayan Onneshan on various current economic issues.Her areas of interest include the Power Sector, Banking Sector, Deficit and Debt in Bangladesh, Industrial Sector in Bangladesh, International Economics and Environment.

Nahida Sultana is an Adjunct Researcher at Unnayan Onneshan. Her present affiliation is lecturer of Depertment of Economics at the University of Barisal. She started her teaching career at Asian University of Bangladesh (AUB).Prior to starting the career in teaching, she worked under the theme titled ‘Governance capability and Macro Economic Performance for Growth and Equity’ at Unnayan Onneshan and conducted research on macroeconomic issues i.e tax, remittance, balance of payment, monetary policy, budget analysis and the performance of the economy of BangladeshShe completed her M.Sc. in Economics from Jahangirnagar University, Savar, Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Polin Saha

Saha-PhotoMr. Polin Saha has perused his B.Sc and M.Sc degree from the department of Soil, Water and Environment at University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. He has obtained his second ‘Masters’ degree on Sustainable Development from Blekinge Institute of Technology (BTH), Sweden. To enhance in his proper research direction, he has additionally completed two courses on ‘Essential Skills for Young Scientists’ and ‘Research and Technology Policy’ from Lund University, Sweden.He has availed the Netherland Fellowship Program (NFP) on ‘Research Methods and Skills’ at the Maastricht School of Management (MSM), The Netherlands in 2013.


Mr. Saha has been contributing to the research arena of Unnayan Onneshan since 2011. He has got numerous publications in national and international peer-reviewed journals, contributed in different research related books and participated in national and international conferences as well as worked for encyclopedia. His main research interests include Environment Management Systems (EMS), multicriteria based decision-making concepts towards Sustainability and strategic analysis for Sustainability Management.

She completed her BSS (Hon’s) and MSS in Development Studies majoring in Development Economics from University of Dhaka.Her major areas of research and expertise include Political Economy of Development, Gender and Development, Environment and Development, Social Policy, Institutional Economics and Quantitative Research.
